Overview
Craft Product. Craft Packaging.
Huckleberry Hill Farms is a legacy craft farm nestled in the hills of Southern Humboldt County — founded by John Casali on the very land he grew up on, built on a deep commitment to sustainability, tradition, and honoring the genetics his late mother cultivated for decades. When a farm operates with that kind of intention, the packaging needs to match. Alkalyne designed the layouts across their full product line — from seed tubes and pre-roll tubes to jar labels, seed booklets, and tamper stickers — giving every product a shelf presence worthy of what's inside.

The Product That Got Noticed
The centerpiece of our packaging work for Huckleberry Hill Farms was the seed tube — a cylindrical container housing circular growing medium disks, each pre-seeded and ready to plant. A buyer simply drops a disk in water, watches the growing medium expand, and plants it. The concept was innovative enough to earn the Emerald Cup Most Innovative Product Award in 2021 — and the packaging was designed to be just as distinctive as the product inside. The finished seed tube packaging was later featured on Packaging of the World, a recognized platform for standout packaging design.

Packaging Design
A Cohesive System Across Every Format
Beyond the seed tube, we designed packaging layouts across the full Huckleberry Hill Farms product line — eighth and quarter oz jar labels, pre-roll tubes, seed booklets, and tamper stickers for the jars. Each format presented its own constraints and each was designed to feel like part of the same cohesive family, carrying the farm's identity consistently from one product to the next.
